Earth Security founder, Alejandro Litovsky, discussed the risks associated with water limits at a session on water security in Rabat, chaired by Mr Aziz Mekouar, Morocco's former Ambassador to the United States, at the German Marshall Fund's 'Atlantic Dialogues', on October 25-27, 2013.

The view of the meeting and the experiences shared by governments, companies and civil society points to the perception that geopolitics of water is going to increase. These crises, however, will also open opportunities for more sustainable investments in technologies, water distribution infrastructures and strategic management of watersheds and water supplies.

The discussion identified and discussed some of the new market solution areas and the countries that can move the agenda from one of risk to one of opportunity. Morocco shared the country's experience in water security policies, which seem to be at the forefront of the global effort to govern water limits with a stewardship mentality.
